Women's Golf Looks For Third Straight Top-Five Finish, Starts MountainView Collegiate Friday

SADDLEBROOKE, Ariz. – Texas A&M women's golf looks to make it three top-five finishes in a row, teeing up for desert golf Friday at The Preserve Golf Club in the MountainView Collegiate.
The 54-hole tournament takes place on the par 72 / 6,218-yard track that features dramatic elevation changes in the western foothills of the Santa Catalina Mountains.
Joining the Aggies in the 13-team field are No. 25 Houston, Iowa State, North Texas, Oregon State, SMU, Southern Miss, Texas State, UNLV, Washington and Wisconsin, in addition to co-hosts Kansas State and Missouri.
The Aggies posted a fifth-place finish at the Icon Invitational (Feb. 25-26), and followed up with a third-place finish in the next stroke-play event, the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational (Mar. 12-13) in Kane'ohe, Hawai'i.
Texas A&M junior Courtney Dow is the reigning SEC Golfer of the Week, and leads the Aggie lineup into the MountainView Collegiate. Dow won the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational, shooting an even-par 216 to win by three strokes.
Amber Park enters the tournament having finished in the top-25 of every spring tournament, highlighted by a fourth-place finish in Hawai'i. Ava Schwienteck notched her third top-25 finish of the year in the last event.
Brooke Tyree enters the event with a 75.00 stroke average, which ranks sixth in Texas A&M history for a freshman season stroke average. Freshman Katie Finley looks for the second top-20 finish of her career to go along with a t-19th finish at the Icon Invitational.
Texas A&M begins the tournament at 9:45 a.m. CT Friday, with 18 holes slated each day through Sunday.
