GAME PREVIEW: SEC Tournament vs. No. 6 Georgia

HOOVER, Alabama – The No. 15 Texas A&M Aggies continue play at the SEC Tournament Wednesday when they face the No. 6 Georgia in a second round game at Hoover Metropolitan Stadium. The game is set for 9:30 a.m.
It marks the second consecutive season the teams have met in Wednesday's breakfast game. Last year, Asa Lacy and Cason Sherrod combined to three-hit the Bulldogs while Chris Andritsos hit two home runs and drove in four runs in a 7-0 victory.
Wednesday's action begins double-elimination portion of the tournament. The game's winner will play the Ole Miss-Arkansas winner Thursday at 4:30 p.m. while the losers face off Thursday at 9:30 a.m.
The game will be televised on the SEC Network with Dave Neal (play-by-play), Chris Burke (color), Ben McDonald (color) and Mike Rooney (field) handling the call. The contest will be available for viewing on SEC Network+.
The Aggies are looking for their second SEC crown to go with their 2016 title. Texas A&M owns a 12-7 record all-time at the SEC Tournament, logging a pair of wins in both 2013 and 2015 and three wins last season in addition to the four wins in the 2016 title run. The Aggies' .632 winning percentage at the SEC Tournament trails only LSU (.669 -85-42).
Texas A&M leads the SEC in ERA (3.10), strikeouts (614), strikeouts per nine innings (10.99) and K-to-BB ratio (3.36).
In the SEC Tournament opener against Florida, the Aggies eclipsed the single-season school record for strikeouts with 614. The old school record for strikeouts in a season was 612 set by the 2010 squad, the only other season the Ol' Sarge's charges reached the 600-K mark.
The Aggies and Bulldogs did not meet during the 2019 regular-season. Texas A&M owns a 9-4 edge in the all-time series.
