GAME PREVIEW: SEC Tournament vs. #23 Ole Miss

HOOVER, Alabama – The No. 15 Texas A&M Aggies continue play at the SEC Tournament Thursday when they face the No. 23 Ole Miss Rebels in an elimination game at Hoover Metropolitan Stadium. The game is set for 9:30 a.m.
Aggie starter John Doxakis (19-11) is looking to become the first A&M pitcher since Ross Stripling (2009-12) and Michael Wacha (2010-12) to rack up 20 career victories. With 239 career strikeouts, he is also approaching Clint Thomas (247 – 1973-76) for 10th place on the Aggies' all-time list.
The Maroon & White lead the SEC in ERA (3.08), strikeouts (620), strikeouts per nine innings (10.91) and K-to-BB ratio (3.35).
Doxakis ranks fourth in the SEC in ERA (2.01) and eighth in strikeouts (96).
The game will be televised on the SEC Network with Dave Neal (play-by-play), Chris Burke (color), Ben McDonald (color) and Mike Rooney (field) handling the call. The contest will be available for viewing on SEC Network+.
The Rebels swept a three-game series from the Aggies during the 2019 regular season. Ole Miss owns a 15-13 edge in the all-time series. The teams have met twice in the SEC Tournament. The Aggies topped the Rebels, 12-8, in 2016 on the way to their tournament crown. Ole Miss returned the favor with a 2-1 victory in the semifinal round on the way to a championship.
