
Orsak Wins AQHA Collegiate Horsemanship Championship

OKLAHOMA CITY – Texas A&M All-American Sarah Orsak won the American Quarter Horse Association Collegiate Horsemanship Championship Tuesday at the 2019 Built Ford Tough AQHYA World Championship Show.
The victory marks back-to-back titles for Texas A&M and third in the last four years as Avery Ellis won the event in 2016 and 2018.
As the No. 1 seed in the competition, Orsak received a first-round bye before defeating Fresno State's Nicole Campbell, 146.5-132.5. In the semifinals, the San Antonio, Texas, native topped Auburn's Kelsey Jung, 157-152.5.
She defeated another Auburn Tiger, Deanna Green, in the championship round, 154-151.5.
Orsak was one of 12 NCEA competitors chosen by the NCEA Selection Committee to compete for the championship. Alex Albright and Ashley Davidson also represented Texas A&M as the No. 4 and No. 8 seeds, respectively.
