Men’s Tennis Competes at Gamecock Scramble
Oct 28, 2021 | Men's Tennis
COLUMBIA, S.C. – Texas A&M Men's Tennis is set to compete at the Gamecock Scramble beginning on Friday at the Carolina Tennis Center. Teams joining the Aggies throughout the weekend's tournament are Wake Forest, Florida State, Presbyterian College and host-South Carolina.
"South Carolina is always a challenging place to play and with us being there this year in conference play this is a great opportunity for our team to familiarize ourselves with the environment there," Texas A&M head coach Steve Denton said. "There are a lot of great teams represented in the field this weekend. I know the guys are excited to go on the road and play one last time this fall. This is the final opportunity to audition and make a case for their spot in the spring line-up by competing at their highest level."
A&M will be represented by nearly the entire roster in the Palmetto State, as only junior Guido Marson is not set to don the Maroon & White this weekend. The Aggies are set to face off against the Demon Deacons in singles and doubles beginning Friday afternoon. On Saturday, A&M will open the day against a combination of opponents from Florida State and Presbyterian College followed by doubles match ups against the Gamecocks. The weekend is set to wrap up for Texas A&M against South Carolina in singles action Sunday morning.
