Smith Joins Sports Science PhD Fellowship Program

Texas A&M Sports Science welcomes Drew Smith as the second member of the unit's PhD Fellowship Program.
In his role he will provide data analytics expertise to the Performance and Wellness units as well as serving as a sports scientist for a number of our athletics programs. Drew will pursue his PhD in Kinesiology under the guidance of Dr. Jenna Yentes and also contribute to collaborative projects with the Huffines Institute.
Drew Smith received a Bachelor's of Science in Exercise Science from the University of Pittsburgh in 2021 and his Master of Science in Sports Science from the University of Pittsburgh in 2022. During his time in the Steel City, Smith had an active role with Pitt's Football program. He primarily dealt with the day-to-day use of Catapult and force plates as part of their athlete monitoring system. He worked with the strength and conditioning staff to form upcoming programs for the team and produced visuals for the coaching staff to aid their decision-making process.
