Aggies Head To Missouri for First Conference Meet

COLUMBIA, Mo. – The Texas A&M swimming & diving program is set to begin conference competition with a trip to Columbia for a dual meet with Missouri at the Mizzou Aquatic Center Nov. 1. The women's team is fresh off a dual meet victory a week ago against Houston, and the men's team returns to action after notching victories against BYU and TCU in a tri meet.
Travis Gulledge made a big impact for the Aggies in the tri-meet, going 54.93 in the 100 breast to place second. Gulledge, along with Baylor Nelson, Chase Swearingen and Connor Foote contributed to a first-place finish in the 400 medley relay with a time of 3:16.03.
The men also dominated in the 50 free, sweeping the top three spots. Foote led the charge, clocking a 20.26, followed by Collin Fuchs (20.38) and Ben Scholl (20.42).
Chloe Stepanek added a pair of top times for the Maroon & White against Houston, recording a 1:44.90 in the 200 free and a 1:55.86 in the 200 back. Hayden Miller dominated the distance events, going 9:40.57 in the 1000 free and 4:46.31 in the 500 free. Stepanek, along with her teammates recorded season-best times in the 400 medley relay and 400 free relay, going 3:32.96 and 3:20.09, respectively.
Else Praasterink and Mayson Richards each picked up first-place scores on the springboards against Houston, as Praasterink delivered a near personal-best score of 328.30 on the 3-meter and Richards scored 289.28 on the 1-meter.
Leonardo Garcia and Rhett Hensley led the Aggies to a sweep on the springboards at the BYU-TCU tri meet. Garcia led the 3-meter scores with a 392.10 and placed second on the 1-meter with a 356.25. Hensley reigned supreme on the 1-meter with a near-personal best score of 378.75 and notched second on the 3-meter with a 357.65.
Missouri holds a 1-1 record on the women's side with a 174-125 win against Arkansas and the men's team is 0-1. Texas A&M secured wins for both the men's and women's teams in College Station the last time they faced Missouri in 2018.
