Prager Deals, No. 4 Aggies Roll Past Wagner in Series Opener, 17-2

With the win, the Aggies are off to a 5-0 start for the 32nd time in program history and the first since 2020.
Prager improved to 2-0 on the year after blanking the Seahawks (0-4) over a career-best 6.2 innings. The redshirt sophomore also tallied a career-high 10 strikeouts on the night to only one walk. In relief, Brett Antolick and Kaiden Wilson made their Maroon & White debuts and combined for three strikeouts in two innings.
On the offensive end, Gavin Grahovac and Braden Montgomery led the charge as the duo combined for seven RBI on the night. Grahovac, who belted his first collegiate homer in the win, went 2-for-4 with a team-high tying four RBI. Montgomery reached base safely in all four plate appearances, finishing 3-for-3 with a walk. The junior, who extended his on-base streak to 33 consecutive games, also plated three RBI in the win.
Texas A&M jumped in front early as Montgomery plated Jace LaViolette, who reached on a single, with an RBI triple down the right field line in the first. The junior came around to score during the next at-bat as Hayden Schott ripped an RBI single up the middle to make it 2-0, Aggies.
The Maroon & White added to the lead in the second behind a three-run homer off the bat of Grahovac. The rookie's long ball traveled 377 feet and left the bat at 102 mph.
The freshman tacked on another run to the lead, 6-0, with an RBI single in the fourth, plating Ali Camarillo, who reached on a leadoff double. After advancing to third on a LaViolette double, Grahovac came around to score on an infield RBI single by Montgomery.
Montgomery added his third RBI of the night in sixth as the junior plated LaViolette, who reached on a walk and advanced to second on a balk, with an RBI single up the middle to extend the lead to 8-0.
In the seventh, Ol' Sarges' charges blew the game open with a nine-run frame as the lead bloomed to 17-0. During the inning, the Aggies scored on a balk and four bases-loaded walks before Hank Bard hammered a 1-0 pitch down the right field line for a grand slam. The long ball marked the third of his Texas A&M career and the first grand slam.
Wagner pushed across a run in the eighth and ninth to make the final tally 17-2 in favor of the Maroon & White.
