No. 12 Men’s Tennis Continues SEC Road Trip to South Carolina
Mar 02, 2024 | Men's Tennis
COLUMBIA, South Carolina – The No. 12 Texas A&M men's tennis team continues its SEC road trip to take on the No. 16 South Carolina Gamecocks, Sunday, March 3, at the Carolina Tennis Center with first serve set for 11 a.m.
"Both of us lost our opener, so we will need to be excited to play," head coach Steve Denton said. "We both have to forget Friday's match and move on."
The Aggies (9-3, 0-1 SEC) are looking to bounce back after dropping their conference opener to the Florida Gators. The Maroon & White are led by reigning SEC Player of the Week Raphael Perot who has held down court 1 for the Aggies this year with four ranked-singles victories.
Texas A&M and South Carolina (6-6, 0-1 SEC) met on Feb. 16, where the Aggies dominated the Gamecocks, 4-1, at the ITA National Indoor Championships to advance to the quarterfinals. The Maroon & White have won the past two matchups versus the Gamecocks, dating back to last season's SEC Tournament. South Carolina is coming off a loss against No. 25 LSU, 4-2, on their home court.
