PHILADELPHIA – The Texas A&M track & field team claimed the men's 4x400m and 4x800m titles at the Penn Relays on the final day of the event Saturday at Franklin Field.
Penn Relays
Texas A&M won the final two men's relays of the meet, as they claimed the 4x800m title, followed by the 4x400m. These two victories added to head coach Pat Henry's Penn Relay wins, as he now holds 28 while leading the Aggies and has won 66 total across his head coaching career.
The men's 4x800m relay team consisting of Kimar Farquharson, Caden Norris, Cooper Cawthra and Sam Whitmarsh claimed the Aggies first ever 4x800m Penn Relays title and broke a 13-year old school record in the win. The group were among the front runners throughout the race and entered the final leg in third. Whitmarsh anchored the Maroon & White with a final split of 1:45.02 which was the fastest by any athlete in the event. He crossed the line in 7:13.98 to ensure the victory.
Doubling down on the day's victories was the men's 4x400m quartet of Jevon O'Bryant, Ja'Qualon Scott, Cutler Zamzow and Auhmad Robinson. A&M entered the final handoff in the lead following Zamzow's third leg which was the fastest among all athletes in his lap (45.34), leaving Robinson to finish the job. The junior did just that, as he closed the event in 44.79 and fended off the competition to secure the title in 3:01.52.
The women's 4x400m relay group also ran their second-best mark this season, as Jaydan Wood, Kennedy Wade, Nissi Kabongo and Jermaisha Arnold clocked a time of 3:29.27 to place second.
Opening the relay action on the final day were the 4x100m groups, as both the men's and women's teams finished sixth in 40.90 and 44.58, respectively.
The individual events set the tone for the day in Philadelphia, as Semira Killebrew secured a third-place finish in the 100m final matching her prelim time of 11.50. Jasmine Harmon and Jaiya Covington logged a 4-5 finish in the 100m hurdles, as Harmon ran a personal-best 13.30, while Covington crossed the line right after in 13.33. Connor Schulman concluded the individual events, claiming third in the 110m hurdles in 13.51 which was his second-fastest time this season.

The pair finish first and third in the event, respectively, as Martin tossed 59.00m/193-7 and Weiser recorded a personal-best toss of 55.36m/181-7.
