Distin, Hankins Named to CSC Academic All-District Team

GREENWOOD, Ind. – Texas A&M's Lamara Distin and Sam Hankins were named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team, the organization announced Tuesday.
The Aggie field standouts secured their All-District status following outstanding seasons representing the Maroon & White. Distin concluded her collegiate career donning a 3.5 GPA throughout her bachelor's degree in sport management and a 3.75 GPA in her graduate certificate in leadership education theory and practice. The senior added another pair of First Team All-American honors to her resume, along with an NCAA record in the indoor women's high jump, as she became the first collegiate woman to clear the 2.00m/6-6.75 mark.
Hankins also stood out in the classroom, boasting a 3.78 GPA while pursuing his bachelor's degree in sport management. The junior recorded a top-five finish in the men's SEC javelin competition and secured Second Team All-America honors at the NCAA Outdoor Championships in the javelin.
Both A&M athletes were selected as CSC Academic All-America finalists and will advance to the national ballot which will be voted on by CSC members.
