Three Aggies Set to Compete at NCAA Singles and Doubles Championships

ORLANDO – Three members of Texas A&M women's tennis team compete in the NCAA Singles and Doubles Championship at USTA National Campus, Tuesday through Sunday.
Singles action starts Tuesday. Transfer Violeta Martinez plays SMU's Sophie Llewellyn at 9 a.m. while No. 22 Mia Kupres battles No. 43 Tatum Evans of North Carolina at 12:30 p.m.
In doubles, No. 38 Kupres/Daria Smetannikov match up against No. 45 Xinyi Nong/Nikola Daubnerova of Florida Wednesday.
Kupres was crowned the champion at the ITA Texas Regional which extended the opportunity for a spot in the NCAA Singles Championships. The doubles tandem of Kupres/Smetannikov earned a spot after winning the semifinals match at the ITA Central Sectional Championship, along with Martinez qualifying with a quarterfinal consolation victory.
Players garner All-American honors with a round of 16 appearance in singles or a quarterfinal appearance in doubles.
