No. 2 Seed Aggies Open SEC Tournament Sunday

SAVANNAH, Ga – The No. 6 Texas A&M volleyball team opens its SEC Tournament campaign in the quarterfinals versus Vanderbilt Sunday at Enmarket Arena with first serve set for 4 p.m.
This Aggies enter the newly reintroduced conference tournament as the No. 2 overall seed following their 14-1 record during the SEC regular-season slate. The Aggies seed earned them a double bye, as they enter the tournament in the quarterfinals versus the Commodores.
Regular Season Wrap Up
The Maroon & White closed the regular season with a 22-3 record, marking the programs best start since 1984. The group also captured five ranked wins throughout the year, including the highest ranked home win in program history in a five-set thriller versus then No. 2 Texas. Texas A&M also concluded the season on a 10-game win streak which marks the longest undefeated run since 2015 and is one of only 12 10-match winning streaks in program history.
The Aggies logged their best conference finish since 2015, finishing second with a 14-1 ledger. The programs record correlated to a .933 winning percentage which is the highest in school history, including the year they won the conference in 2015. Texas A&M made sure to put away opponents early and often in the conference slate, securing a SEC-high nine sweeps.
A&M's success was reflected across the league's postseason awards, as the Maroon & White landed a conference-high four athletes on the All-SEC First Team. Logan Lednicky, Ifenna Cos-Okpalla, Maddie Waak and Kyndal Stowers each earned recognition.
The Matchup
Texas A&M faces off versus Vanderbilt for only the second time in the program's history. The first meeting came in both programs second conference game of the season, where the Aggies put on a dominant performance at Reed Arena, capturing a 3-0 sweep.
Vanderbilt opened its tournament campaign Friday, securing a win over Mississippi State (3-0) and followed that up Saturday downing Georgia (3-1) to ensure their spot in the next round. The Commodores now hold a 9-17 ledger this season and finished conference play at 3-12.
On the stat sheet at the conclusion of the regular season, the Maroon & White lead the Commodores in hitting percentage, opponent hitting percentage, kills per set, assists per set, digs per set and blocks per set, while Vanderbilt has a slight upper hand in aces per set.

Ifenna Cos-Okpalla is four blocks from reaching 150 on the season, if she reaches the milestone, it will mark her third-straight season eclipsing the number which would make her the first Aggie to do so since 1985.
Logan Lednicky recorded double digit kills in all 15 conference matches this season.
