ARLINGTON, Texas – The Texas A&M men's basketball team closes out a three-game road swing taking on its third straight ACC opponent in the SMU Mustangs Sunday. Tip for the Hoop Hype XL event at the College Park Center is set for 4 p.m.
The Aggies are coming off a hard-fought, 81-73, win at Pitt Tuesday. Rubén Dominguez knocked down four 3's to add18 points and Jacari Lane chipped a season-high 14 points to go with five assists. The Aggies shot 91-percent from the free throw line, going 10-for-10 in the final four minutes to seal the victory.
Dominguez has had the hot hand as of late, scoring 15-plus points in each of the last four games, combining for 24 made 3's during that span. He is coming off an 18-point performance at Pitt that saw him knock down four 3-pointers after connecting on 7-of-12 in the win over the Seminoles. Dominguez ranks second nationally with 37 made 3's on the year and sits in fourth averaging 4.1 per game. As a team, the Aggies rank 10th in the nation and second in the SEC averaging 11.8 made 3's per outing.
The Maroon & White have dished out at least 20 assists in four of their last five games to help them rank fourth nationally and lead the SEC averaging 20.7 assists per game.
