The 2025 opener marks the 123rd season of Aggie baseball and the 20th straight campaign the Maroon & White have started the year at the corner of Bush and Olsen. Texas A&M is 85-32-5 all-time on Opening Day and 35-4 when the season opens at Blue Bell Park. In home openers at Olsen Field, the Aggies are 40-6 and have won nine of their last 10.
Since 2009, the Maroon & White have won 15 of 16 Opening Weekend series with 14 via a sweep. During that stretch, Texas A&M has outscored opponents 451-113. The Aggies are in search of their fourth straight Opening Weekend sweep.
The Maroon & White enter the weekend as the unanimous preseason No. 1 team for the first time in program history. Texas A&M's squad is led by a quartet of preseason All-Americans in Gavin Grahovac, Wyatt Henseler, Jace LaViolette and Prager. LaViolette and Prager are the first pair of Aggie teammates to be named unanimous preseason first team All-Americans in program history. The duo along with Grahovac were also named to the Golden Spikes Award Preseason Watch List.
In total, the Maroon & White return 20 players from last season's College World Series squad and welcomed 23 newcomers in the offseason. The newcomer class was ranked second by Baseball America led by Henseler and Patton.
The Aggies are coming off an historic 2024 season that saw them reach the College World Series Finals for the first time in program history. The trip to Omaha marked the second in the last three seasons for the Maroon & White and eighth overall in school history.
