No. 18 Women’s Golf Opens Spring Schedule at Moon Golf Invitational

MELBOURNE, Fla. – The No. 18 Texas A&M women's golf team begins the spring season at the Moon Golf Invitational at the Suntree Country Club Feb. 16-18.
Head coach Gerrod Chadwell is bringing a lineup featuring 2024 All-SEC Second Team selection Cayetana Fernández García-Poggio who is posting a 71.45 stroke average this season which is tied for sixth in the conference. Fernández García-Poggio wrapped up the fall with her first collegiate win at the Charles Schwab Women's Collegiate Challenge that garnered her SEC Golfer of the Week honors.
Also making the trip are Kynadie Adams, Vanessa Borovilos, Lauren Nguyen and Mia Nixon. Adams came in third at the Match in the Desert in between the fall and spring campaigns and Borovilos tied for second at the Charles Schwab.
The 17-team field is highlighted by 11 top 25 programs. Including the Aggies, eight SEC teams will be in the tournament to open spring competition.
The 54-hole tournament begins on Sunday with a 7:50 a.m. tee time. Live stats for the event can be found at scoreboard.clippd.com.
