Head Coach Joni Taylor
On the first quarter of the game…
"I thought we had some good pace and some good looks. We did a good job of trying to slow them down. They were really elite in transition, and so I thought we did a good job of forcing them into some half-court offense. That allowed us to then come down and run. We got sped up in the second quarter and took quick shots. That allowed them to get out and run which made it hard for us to get back on defense."
Graduate Student Sahara Jones
On the offensive drought in the second quarter…
"We were rushing ourselves due to what they were doing on defense. That's something we try not to fall into. Whenever we get rushed you see what happens, we turn the ball over and start playing out of character. We talked about it at half time and got it fixed in the second half. We just have to be confident and sure in ourselves to come meet the ball and not get so many turnovers like we did because that's how we got down in the first place."
Redshirt Junior Jada Malone
On the leadership from veterans through adversity…
"We always say it's about focusing on next best action or N.B.A. You can't go back and change the past; you can only build on it. It's just acknowledging what you did wrong and fixing it."
