No. 12 Aggies Drop 4-2 Decision to Gamecocks

BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION – The No. 12 Texas A&M men's tennis team dropped a 4-2 decision to the South Carolina Gamecocks in a rain-delayed dual match on Friday at the Mitchell Tennis Center.
The Aggies fell to 14-6 overall and 7-2 in SEC play, while the Gamecocks improved to 14-5 and 8-2.
The Gamecocks grabbed the early advantage by winning the doubles point, but the Aggies rallied with victories at No. 1 and No. 5 singles to equalize the match at 2-2. USC went on to tally hard-fought victories at court 4 and court 2 to clinch the win.
Posting victories for the Aggies were Theo Papamalamis over Casey Hoole on court 1, 6-1, 4-0 (retired), and Togan Tokac in straight sets over Atakan Karahan, 6-4, 6-3, at court 5.
The Aggies return to action on Sunday with a 1 p.m. dual match against the Kentucky Wildcats.
