No. 16 Women’s Golf Embarks on SEC Championships Journey

BELLEAIR, Fla. – The No. 16 Texas A&M women's golf team is set to compete at the 2025 SEC Championship April 14-18 at the Pelican Golf Club.
The Aggies won the 2023 SEC title and went to the championship match in 2024. In both years, Texas A&M faced off against Mississippi State in the finals.
The Maroon & White is led by Cayetana Fernández García-Poggio who has been named SEC Golfer of the Week twice this season and leads the team with a 71.4 stroke average. The sophomore is the No. 26 ranked collegiate golfer this year.
Vanessa Borovilos also leads the way as one of the premier freshmen in the conference. Borovilos is third among all league freshmen in stroke average at 72.1 during the 2024-25 campaign and has been tabbed as SEC Freshman of the Week twice and golfer of the week once. Borovilos is ranked No. 36 among collegians.
Also joining the lineup are Kynadie Adams, Sky Sudberry and Mia Nixon. Lauren Nguyen will serve as alternate. All six golfers have logged at least one top 10 finish this season and the team is fresh off a 38-hole victory at the "Mo" Morial Invitational to wrap up the regular season.
The Aggies tee off at 7:10 a.m. from No. 10 to start round one Monday. The tournament begins with 54 holes of stroke play Monday-Wednesday to decide the individual SEC champion and the match play seeding. For advancing teams, match play quarterfinals and semifinals will take place on Thursday with the championship match Friday.
Live stats for the event can be found at golfstat.com. The semifinal match will be streamed on SECN+ at 12 p.m. and the championship is scheduled to be televised on SECN at 9 a.m. Friday.
