Apr 21, 2025 | Baseball
BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION – Due to predicted inclement weather, Tuesday's Blue Bell Homemade Classic between Texas A&M and Sam Houston has been moved up to a 4 p.m. start.
Tuesday's contest will be broadcast on SECN+ and can be heard locally on SportsRadio 1150 AM/93.7 The Zone. Fans can also follow along with the series through live stats or on X, @AggieBaseball.
Tuesday's midweek marks the 138th meeting all-time and second this season between the Aggies (23-16) and Bearkats (8-32). The Maroon & White lead the all-time series 92-43-2 after recording a 14-1 run-rule victory back on April 8 in Huntsville. Texas A&M enters Tuesday's game with seven straight midweek wins.
The Maroon & White will send right-hander Gavin Lyons to the mound for the fourth straight midweek. The freshman will square off against right-hander Danny Valadez.
The Aggies enter the week as one of the hottest teams in the country with wins in nine of their last 10 contests. During the stretch, the Maroon & White are averaging 11.2 runs per game and have outscored their opponents 112-49. Bear Harrison, Kaeden Kent, Jace LaViolette and Caden Sorrell have powered the Aggie offense over the last 10 games as the quartet has combined for 10 doubles, 19 homers, 43 walks, 62 RBI and a .381 batting average.
Over the weekend, Texas A&M secured its third straight SEC series win after taking two of three at No. 2 Arkansas. The series victory marked the Aggies' first in Fayetteville since 2016 and second straight on the road against a Top 2 team.
On the mound, the Aggies rank second nationally in walks allowed per nine (2.68), third in strikeout-to-walk ratio (3.51), and 12th in WHIP (1.24). Offensively, the Maroon & White sit 18th nationally in home runs with 66.
