No. 2 Aggies Host Quinnipiac in NCAA Tournament First Round

BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION – The No. 2 Texas A&M women's tennis team opens the NCAA Tournament against Quinnipiac Friday at Mitchell Tennis Center. Match time is 1 p.m.
The Aggies look to advance to the second round and face the winner between Rice and UC Santa Barbara.
The Maroon & White feature the newly reigned No. 1 ITA ranked singles player in Mary Stoiana, followed by Nicole Khirin (No. 13), Lucciana Perez (No. 51), Mia Kupres (No. 67), and Daria Smetannikov (No. 109). In doubles they bring in Stoiana/Perez at No. 25.
Quinnipiac is highlighted by Anagha Shankar with an overall record of 19-7 on the year. The Bobcats boast eight Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference tournament titles and nine consecutive regular season crowns. Quinnipiac has advanced to the NCAA Tournament seven times since joining the MAAC in 2013.
Texas A&M looks extend its home court win streak to 68 matches heading into this contest. The Aggies hosted Quinnipiac in the first round of the 2023 NCAA Tournament with the Maroon & White prevailing, 4-0.
The match will now take place at 1 p.m. due to predicted weather conditions following the 10 a.m. match between Rice and UC Santa Barbara.
