Following a pair of infield singles, the Tigers (14-35, 1-24) scratched across a run in the second on an RBI single through the left side to even the score at 1-1.
The Maroon & White responded in the third with a five-spot to jump back in front 6-1. LaViolette and Wyatt Henseler opened the frame with back-to-back solo blasts to stretch the lead to 3-1. LaViolette's second long ball of the game was belted 431 feet to straightaway center, while Henseler's traveled 380 feet into Aggie Alley in left.
Later in the inning, Blake Binderup deposited a three-run homer over the wall in left to extend the advantage to 6-1. The redshirt sophomore's eighth home run of the season left the bat at 97 mph and traveled 351 feet.
