MEET PREVIEW: NCAA Outdoor Championships

EUGENE – The Texas A&M track & field team concludes its 2025 campaign at the NCAA Outdoor Championships held at Hayward Field June 11-14.
The Aggies are set for the final meet of the season, where they take a talented squad to compete for a national title in Oregon. A&M has 13 entries to the meet on the men's side and 12 on the women's, making it one of only four schools to have 12 or more entries for both teams.
Entering the championships, the Maroon & White are ranked second in both the men's and women's standings by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association. The Aggie women are the only program in the nation to rank in the top five throughout all 10 checkpoints during the outdoor season, while the men stand as one of the two schools to do so on their side.
Entries
A&M secured a deep set of entries to the national championships, as it hosted the NCAA West First Round. The Aggies punched 25 tickets in total, with 22 coming on the track and three in the field.
Aleksandr Solovev punched the men's first ticket to Oregon, as he won the men's pole vault to ensure his spot. He was followed by a deep group on the track, including Ernest Campbell (100m), Ja'Qualon Scott (110m hurdles, 400m hurdles), Auhmad Robinson (400m), Cutler Zamzow (400m), Hossam Eddine Hatib (400m), Bryce McCray (400m hurdles), Sam Whitmarsh (800m), Cooper Cawthra (1,500m), Victor Kibiego (3,000m steeplechase), 4x100 relay and 4x400m relay.
Sofia Yakushina was the first to secure her spot at the national championships in the heptathlon, entering the meet as the top seed. She is joined by Camryn Dickson (100m, 200m), Jasmine Montgomery (100m, 200m), Jaiya Covington (100m hurdles), Jaydan Wood (400m), Debora Cherono (3,000m steeplechase), Kennady Fontenot (3,000m steeplechase), Winny Bii (triple jump), 4x100m relay and 4x400m relay.
The Field
There will be a field of 24 athletes in every event at the championships, featuring the best 12 men and women from both the East and West regions that qualified from the respective First Round meets that took place May 28-31.
