Aggie Duo Earns Cobalt All-America Scholar Recognition

NORMAN, Okla. – Texas A&M standouts Michael Heidelbaugh and Jack Usner claimed 2024-25 Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar recognition as announced by the GCAA Tuesday.
To be eligible for Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar an individual must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically. In addition, one must participate in 50 percent of the team's competitive rounds, have a stroke average under 76.0 and maintain a cumulative grade-point average of 3.2. A recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at their college or university.
Heidelbaugh came on strong in his final season, cracking the top 100 of the national rankings for the first time in his career. The Dallas native helped the Aggies earn an NCAA Championship spot with his 10th place showing at the Auburn Regional. He registered a 13th place finish at the SEC Championship and won two match play contests as the Aggies advanced to the finals. He added a sixth-place effort at the Southern Highlands Collegiate and a ninth-place result at the SeaBest Invitational.
Usner competed in seven events last season, playing 21 rounds. He registered four rounds in the 60s and posted a 74.00 scoring average. He logged a sixth-place effort at the All-American Individual and added top 20 showings at the Qubein Cup and the Furman Intercollegiate.
