BIRMINGHAM – The Texas A&M softball team learned its eight Southeastern Conference opponents for the 2027 season, as the league office announced the conference schedule Wednesday. Game times and television designations will be announced at a later date.
Head coach Trisha Ford’s fifth Aggie squad faces Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, Florida, Kentucky, Missouri, South Carolina and Tennessee in conference weekend series play. Five of those eight opponents advanced to the 2026 NCAA Tournament, including three Women’s College World Series participants. Additionally, four of the Aggies’ 2027 SEC foes finished in the top 10 of the final 2026 NCAA RPI rankings.
The Aggies’ league home slate features Tennessee (March 12-14), Auburn (April 2-4), Missouri (April 23-25) and South Carolina (May 6-8). Tennessee advanced to the WCWS semifinals last season, while South Carolina earned an NCAA Tournament berth.
Texas A&M’s road slate includes trips to Alabama (March 19-21), Florida (March 26-28), Arkansas (April 16-18) and Kentucky (April 30-May 2). Both Alabama and Arkansas reached the Women’s College World Series in 2026, while Florida hosted an NCAA Super Regional.
SEC play begins March 12 and runs through May 8. Each team will play eight three-game conference series for a total of 24 league contests. The schedule is subject to change, including the possibility of some conference series concluding on Mondays.
The 2027 SEC Softball Tournament is scheduled for May 11-15 at Toyota Field in Madison, Alabama.
The Aggies compiled a 38-19 overall record last season and earned a No. 15 national seed in the 2026 NCAA Division I Softball Tournament. Texas A&M returns 10 letterwinners, including first-team All-American Mya Perez and NFCA All-Central Region honorees Sydney Lessentine and Ariel Kowalewski. The Maroon & White also welcomed 15 newcomers, with a freshman class ranked No. 8 nationally and a transfer class considered a consensus top-five haul.
