
Aggies Top Oklahoma for Sixth Straight Victory

BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION – The Texas A&M men's basketball team pulled away late in a seesaw affair to top the Oklahoma Sooners, 83-76, Saturday afternoon inside Reed Arena to earn its 11th win in the last 12 games.
The game saw 19 lead changes before Texas A&M (13-3, 3-0) closed out strong, beating the Sooners (11-5, 1-2 SEC) in Reed Arena for the fifth straight time. Defense paved the way for the Maroon & White as they created a 17-8 turnover advantage.
Five Aggies scored in double figures as Rashaun Agee led the charge with 16 points on 5-for-9 shooting to go along with 12 rebounds for his seventh double-double of the season. Rubén Dominguez and Rylan Griffen added 14 apiece, while Pop Isaacs finished with 13, and Marcus Hill chipped in 10.
The Aggies began the matchup with tough inside scoring and an 11-2 run over a 2:43 period to take a 33-23 advantage with 7:45 left in the opening half. Oklahoma's Nijel Pack got the Sooners back in the game with three 3-pointers, but Griffen buried a shot from beyond the arc with :01 left on the clock to give Texas A&M a 48-45 lead at the break. Agee paced the offense with 12 points, shooting 3-for-4 from the field, in an opening act that featured 11 lead changes.
The teams traded blows to start the second half, but that slowed down when both offenses were held scoreless for 2:23. Oklahoma ended the lull and went up 67-63 midway through stanza, but the Aggies found momentum late with a 16-4 run bookended by 3-pointers from Zach Clemence and Dominguez. The trifecta by Dominguez gave Texas A&M a 79-71 edge with 2:52 remaining. The Sooners trimmed the deficit to 79-76 at the 1:00 mark, but a layup by Agee and a pair of free throws by Isaacs sealed the victory.
