BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION – The Texas A&M men's tennis team came out swinging with 7-0 sweeps over UTSA and UTA in an opening day doubleheader on Saturday at the Mitchell Tennis Center.

Senior Togan Tokac and junior Kholo Montsi started the Maroon & White's day off on the right foot in its first match against UTSA with a doubles victory over Oskar Grzegorzewski and Ben Chetewy Ungar on court 1, 6-2. Junior Tiago Pires and sophomore Ritesh Patil followed shortly after, topping Maximillian Ontiveros and Yonatan Sagiv, 6-3, securing the doubles point for a 1-0 lead.

The Maroon & White continued its momentum over into singles, with all six courts picking up straight-set wins. The singles wins were highlighted by freshman Kriish Tyagi's first win as an Aggie on court 5 over Constantin Radu, 6-1, 6-2.

The Aggies returned to the court for the nightcap against UTA, keeping the balls rolling against the Mavericks. The Maroon & White made quick work to secure both doubles courts, before sweeping all five singles courts in straight sets.

The Aggies will face Elon in midweek action on Wednesday at Wake Forest's indoor tennis center at 1 p.m. before staying on the road for ITA Kickoff Weekend at NC State, where they will look to secure a spot at the ITA Indoor National Championships.
