MALIBU – The No. 2 Texas A&M women's tennis team heads to California this weekend for a pair of road tests. The Aggies open play against No. 19 Pepperdine Friday at 2 p.m. at the Ralphs-Straus Tennis Center before closing the trip Sunday with a noon match against San Diego at the Hogan Tennis Center.
Friday's matchup against Pepperdine marks the eighth meeting between the programs, with the Waves holding a 6-1 advantage in the all-time series. The Aggies earned a 6-1 victory in the most recent matchup in 2025 at the Mitchell Tennis Center.
The Maroon & White own a 5-3 edge in the series with San Diego. The most recent match came in College Station last season, where Texas A&M claimed a 6-1 win over the Toreros, led by singles victories from Mia Kupres, Lexington Reed and Lucciana Perez.
Texas A&M enters the weekend at 5-0 after sweeping Arizona State, 4-0, at ITA Kickoff Weekend, securing a spot at the ITA National Indoor Tennis Championship. The Aggies claimed the doubles point behind wins from No. 76 Violeta Martinez/Anna Perelman and the pairing of Kupres/Perez, while No. 83 Daria Smetannikov, Reed and Perelman added straight-set singles victories to complete the sweep.
