Men's Basketball Hits the Road to Face Auburn

AUBURN – The Texas A&M men's basketball team looks to keep rolling as it hits the road to take on Auburn Tuesday at 8 p.m. inside Neville Arena.
The Aggies outlasted LSU to open SEC play with a 75-72 victory at Reed Arena Saturday afternoon, moving to 11-3 on the year. Texas A&M led by double-digits with under nine minutes to play, but the Tigers worked their way back to briefly regain the lead with 5:33 to play. Rashaun Agee put the Aggies back on top late and they were able to hold on for the win. Agee led the way with 15 points and 11 rebounds against LSU, while Rubén Dominguez added 13 points.
Agee has tallied six double-doubles on the season, good for second in the league. His 118 rebounds on the year are the third-highest total in the SEC, while his 8.4 per game average is fourth among SEC players.
Texas A&M boasts the No. 5 scoring offense in the country averaging 94.7 points per game. The Aggies also rank No. 2 in assists (21.4/g) and No. 3 in bench points (43.0/g). Their 11.4 made 3-pointers per game are also good for 11th in the country. Dominguez sits among the top-15 nationally and top-four in the SEC shooting 46.7-percent from beyond the arc and averaging 3.5 3's per game. He knocked down four 3-pointers against the Tigers in the first SEC game of his career.
On the defensive end, Texas A&M ranks fourth among Power 4 teams with 16.4 forced turnovers and 9.6 steals per game. Rylan Griffen leads the way for the Aggies averaging 2.1 steal per game, recording at least three steals in four of the last five games, including three against LSU.
Auburn is 9-5 on the year after falling at No. 23 Georgia in overtime, 104-100, Saturday afternoon to open league play. Texas A&M leads the all-time series with the Tigers, 16-7, and has claimed four of the last five meetings. Last season, the Aggies took down No. 1 Auburn, 83-72, at Reed Arena marking the program's first victory over a top-ranked opponent.
