No. 25 Baseball Slugs Past Tennessee Tech, 15-6, on Opening Day

The Maroon & White recorded 18 hits en route to the win. Eight hitters in the Aggies' lineup recorded a hit, and six players logged multi-hit contests. Texas A&M scored in six of its eight offensive innings and ripped 10 extra-base hits.
Caden Sorrell, Chris Hacopian and Nico Partida led the way offensively. Sorrell was 3-for-5 with two home runs, both over 420 feet, and matched a career high five RBI. Hacopian registered three hits in his Aggie debut, plating two runs and scoring a pair of his own. In his first collegiate game, Partida went 2-for-4 with two runs, four RBI and drilled his first career home run in the eighth inning to give the Maroon & White its largest advantage of the contest.
Terrence Kiel II matched his career high with three hits, including two doubles, one RBI and a run scored. Jake Duer, Boston Kellner and Wesley Jordan were each magnificent in their first game in the Maroon & White, all recording multiple hits. Kellner reached base four times in the win, ripping two doubles and drawing a pair of walks.
Shane Sdao earned the win in his first start since the 2024 College Station Super Regional. The lefty went 5.1 innings, allowing seven hits, four earned runs and striking out five. Ethan Darden was efficient out of relief, getting the Aggies out of a jam in the sixth inning, inducing a pivotal 5-4-3 double play on his third pitch of the contest. In the seventh, Darden earned his second double play ball of the game to post 1.2 scoreless innings on the night. Cole Hubert tossed the last two frames for Ol' Sarge's Charges, allowing two hits, two runs and striking out a pair.

B2 | Kiel began the second inning on a long double to left field. After Harrison struck out, Kellner brought home the run on a sharp double to left center. Sorrell drove Kellner home on a two-out single to right center. Sorrell stole second base and advanced to third base on a throwing error from the catcher. On the next pitch, Hacopian brought home the run on a single through the left side. A&M 4, Tennessee Tech 0.
T3 | Ian Smelser and Eddie Garza recorded back-to-back at the top of the frame. The runners advanced to second and third on a Jack Rooker groundout. With two outs, Owen Lee homered into the right field bullpen to trim the Aggies' lead to one run. A&M 4, Tennessee Tech 3.
B3 | Partida recorded his first hit in the Maroon & White with a single up the middle. Kiel reached on a hustle-double to left center and Partida moved up to third base. Kellner loaded the bases on four-pitch walk, and Partida scored the lone run of the inning on a wild pitch with two outs. A&M 5, Tennessee Tech 4.
T5 | With one out, Garza doubled to left center and Luke Bragga singled through the left side, moving Garza up to third. Rooker reached on a fielder's choice that brought home the lead runner to cut the Aggie advantage in half. A&M 5, Tennessee Tech 4.
B6 | Sorrell smashed a leadoff home run 445 feet to center field. Hacopian followed with a single to center. Jordan drew a walk after the Golden Eagles brought in a new pitcher. Following a sharp lineout to the shortstop from Duer, Partida walked to load the bases with one out. Kiel grounded out to third base but advanced each baserunner to bring in another run. A&M 7, Tennessee Tech 4.
B7 | Kellner led off the inning with his second double of the contest and advanced to third on wild pitch. After Grahovac was hit by a pitch, Sorrell belted a three-run homer. Hacopian and Jordan followed with consecutive walks, and Duer drove in a run with a single through the right side. Still with no outs, Partida brought home Jordan on a sac-fly to left field. A&M 12, Tennessee Tech 4.
T8 | Owen Lee reached base with one out via hit by pitch and scored on two-run homer from Jorsixt Jimenez. A&M 12, Tennessee Tech 6.
B8 | Jordan was hit by a pitch with two outs and stole second two pitches later. Jorian Wilson drew a walk, followed by a three-run home run to left field from Partida. A&M 15, Tennessee Tech 6.
