BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION – Texas A&M track & field's Auhmad Robinson and Henry Zimmerman broke school records in the 200m and weight throw, respectively, on the opening day of the Don Kirby Elite Invitational Friday at The Albuquerque Convention Center.
The Aggies school-record counter increased to eight this season, while the group hauled in five event titles, five all-time marks and 10 personal-best performances to open the weekend.
Robinson downed a 13-year-old mark to cement his name at the top of 200m all-time performers list. The senior crossed the line in a blistering time of 20.33, downing Ameer Webb's previous school record. His mark won the event and ranks him No. 1 in the SEC and No. 2 in the nation this year.
Zimmerman continued his trend of improving his program-record every week, as he now holds the top four marks in the weight throw. He recorded a toss of 22.30m/73-2 in the second round to win his second-straight contest and jumped to No. 12 nationally in the event.
Lawson Jacobs secured his second win of the indoor season, taking the 400m seeded title in a time of 45.45. In the women's event, the Aggies landed three in the top five with all dipping under the 53-second mark. Tyler Lowe topped the group in third with a personal-best time of 52.87, while Lacarthea Cooper and Jahnile Registre followed in fourth (52.94) and fifth (52.98), respectively.

Richard Lee set the tone for the afternoon in Albuquerque, securing the first win of his collegiate career in the unseeded section of the 200m. The freshman crossed the line in 20.72 which is just outside the A&M all-time performers list.
Stefon Dodoo had a career day in the men's 600m, finishing second overall and first among collegiate athletes in 1:16.95. Tharushi Karunarathna followed suit in the women's contest, placing second in a career-best time of 1:28.92.

The long jump tandem of Machaeda Linton finished sixth with a mark of 6.23m/20-5.25, and Morgan Davis was seventh after leaping 6.06m/19-10.75.
