No. 11 Aggies Continue Road Swing Versus No. 3 Texas, No. 6 LSU

AUSTIN – The No. 11 Texas A&M men's tennis team continues its road swing versus No. 3 Texas Friday at the Texas Tennis Center in the first road edition of the Cotton Holdings Lone Star Showdown. The trip continues against No. 6 LSU Sunday at the LSU Tennis Complex. The Texas match begins at 6 p.m. on Friday while the LSU contest starts at 12 p.m. on Sunday.
The Aggies (11-5, 4-2 SEC) are coming off a 2-0 road weekend against then-No. 24 Florida Gators, 4-1, and then-No. 13 South Carolina Gamecocks, 4-3. Senior Togan Tokac and sophomore Alex Frusina led the Maroon & White, both going 3-1 across singles and doubles action.
Texas (13-5, 4-1 SEC) is coming off two back-to-back losses to LSU, 4-3, and TCU, 4-1. The two teams met earlier this season in the opening round of the ITA National Indoors, where the Longhorns handed the Aggies a 4-2 loss before they would go on to win the title. Texas A&M grabbed the doubles point, with freshman Markus Molder grabbing the only singles point.
LSU (17-2, 4-1 SEC) grabbed two SEC wins over Texas, 4-3, and Tennessee, 4-0, this past weekend. Earlier this season the teams met in the first round of consolation action at ITA National Indoors, with the Tigers edging out the Aggies, 4-3. Theo Papamalamis and Kholo Montsi grabbed singles wins along with Texas A&M grabbing the doubles point.
