
Track & Field Opens Outdoor Schedule at UTSA Invitational

SAN ANTONIO – The Texas A&M track & field team opens its outdoor campaign at the UTSA Invitational at the Park West Athletic Complex, March 20-21, with events starting at 10 a.m. Friday and 11 a.m. Saturday.
The Aggies shift gears to the outdoor season and are coming off a national title for the men's team in 2025 which marked the 10th overall NCAA title in program history. The women also carry plenty of momentum from their last outdoor campaign, as they secured third as a group marking their best finish since 2021.
Texas A&M opens up at the UTSA Invitational for the second-straight year, after dominating last years meet bringing home 18 event titles. The women led the way with 11 wins with eight coming on the track and three in the field, while the men secured seven victories with six on the track and one in the field.
Last Time Out
The Maroon & White concluded their indoor campaign last weekend at the NCAA Championships, as the men placed sixth with 21 points while women placed 19th with 12.5 points.
The Aggie men secured five First Team All-American honors, including Ja'Qualon Scott (60m hurdles), Peter Narumbe (800m), Aleksandr Solovev (pole vault) and Henry Zimmerman (weight throw) and the 4x400m relay team. The group accumulated an additional three Second Team accolades courtesy of Blake Harris (heptathlon), Lawson Jacobs (400m) and Micah Larry (long jump).
On the women's side Jaiya Covington (60m hurdles), Camryn Dickson (200m), Lily Carlson (pole vault) and Sofia Yakushina (pentathlon) claimed First Team All-American status. While the long jump duo of Morgan Davis and Machaeda Linton received Second Team All-American honors.

The Aggies are set to compete against a field of 12, including Arkansas, Incarnate Word, Northern Arizona University, Northwestern Oklahoma State, Our Lady of the Lake, Southwestern Oklahoma State, TAMU-Kingsville, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, Texas State, Texas, UTSA and William Carey.
