No. 10 Baseball Downs No. 13 Mississippi State, 11-9, in Friday Night Thriller

The Aggies (38-13, 17-11) were led offensively by Caden Sorrell who matched a career-high six RBI and was a single shy of the cycle.
The Maroon & White got on the board first in the opening frame after a lead off single from Gavin Grahovac. Sorrell followed with his team-best 23rd long ball of the season to give the Aggies a two-run advantage.
The Bulldogs (39-15, 16-13) claimed the lead in the second inning after plating three runs behind three hits and a throwing error.
In the home half of the frame, Blake Binderup led off with a double and Grahovac drew a walk. Sorrell shot his first triple of the season down the right field line to bring both runners across the plate and put the Aggies back in front, 4-3.
The visitors reclaimed the lead in the third inning with two solo homers.
Following back-to-back base knocks, Binderup put the Maroon & White back in front with a three-run shot to left field. Grahovac launched a solo home run that traveled 372 feet and left the bat at 103 miles per hour to close out the four-run inning. Another long ball from the Bulldogs in the fourth inning pulled the game back within one.
Ol' Sarge's charges added a pair of insurance runs in the fifth inning behind a two-RBI double from Sorrell. The visitors matched the score, bringing in two runs off their fourth long ball of the game, making it 10-9 in the Aggies' favor.
The Maroon & White scratched another run across the plate in the sixth behind a bases-loaded hit by pitch, capping the final score at 11-9. Clayton Freshcorn closed out the final 3.0 frames, earning his 12th save of the year and matching a career-high five punchouts while only allowing two hits.
Weston Moss tossed 2.0 innings as the starter, giving up four runs, three earned, on four hits while punching out four batters. Shane Sdao (4-4) entered in relief and tossed 4.0 innings, earning his fourth win of the season.
