SOPHOMORE (2015-16): Posted a team-high 12 wins in Horsemanship en route to being named to the Horsemanship All-SEC Team … Was named MOP against Georgia on Jan. 30 after defeated Bailey Anderson, 77.5-75 … Won both points at the SEC Championships and went 2-1 at the NCEA Championships … Recorded an average score of 72.8.
FRESHMAN (2014-15): Recorded six victories in eight starts during her freshman year … Earned the first MOP honors of her career with a 75.5-73 victory over Delaware State … Opened the year with five consecutive victories and closed the season riding a three-meet win streak … Averaged a 73.83 … Went 5-1 against SEC competition … Earned two victories in exhibition rides … Named to the horsemanship SEC All-Freshman Team.
PERSONAL
Avery Brooke Ellis is the daughter to Debra and Keith Ellis…a College Station-native born on May 4, 1996…two siblings, Ethan and Elijah…following the path of many Aggie family members including great grandfather JC Davis who did not graduate but rather left to serve in the war, grandfathers Charles Ernest Davis class of ’65 and Bill Ellis who was a professor for 43 years, Uncle Dean Davis ’94, and her father (’88) and mother (’90)…studying construction science with hopes of working in construction management…after signing day, placed 5th in horsemanship in AQHYA World Show and top ten finishes at congress…attended A&M consolidated where she was a member of Young Life, interact club and bible study while in high school…volunteered in equine therapy programs…on her spare time, enjoys traveling and riding horses.
