- Title:
- Assistant Coach
Former volunteer assistant Caroline Cramer is in her second season as assistant coach for hunter seat.
Cramer joined the Aggies as a volunteer for the 2013-14 season and was promoted in June 2014. She oversees the hunt seat squad – coaching the equitation on the flat and equitation over fences teams.
In 2015, Cramer's hunt seat squad improved by six victories over the previous season's total, and helped Texas A&M to a runner-up finish at the SEC Championship--the highest in school history. Four of the hunt seat team's seven wins in 2014-15 came against SEC foes. Cramer also coached senior Haley Buchmiller to All-SEC and first-team NCEA All-America honors.
“I am excited to add Caroline to our full-time staff,” head coach Tana McKay said upon hiring. “As a competitor, Caroline had a very successful career competing in USEF (United States Equestrian Federation) shows at the ‘AA’ level and has worked with a number of the industry's top trainers. She also went on to have a very accomplished career as a collegiate athlete. Recently, Caroline has gained some great coaching experience and has proven herself to be a very effective coach. With her riding abilities, her industry knowledge and her NCEA (National Collegiate Equestrian Association) experience, I know Caroline will make an immediate impact on this team.”
A graduate of The University of Tennessee at Martin, Cramer began her coaching career with the Skyhawks as a fifth-year volunteer coach during the 2012-13 season. As a student-athlete at UTM, she competed in both hunt seat events, compiling an impressive 25-7 record on the flat and a 21-10 mark over fences, along with 20 Most Outstanding Player (MOP) awards.
Cramer completed her undergraduate degree in Wildlife Biology at UTM in 2013, and is currently working on a master’s of agriculture in animal science with a focus in equine science at Texas A&M. She is the daughter of Pam and Reece Cramer of Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.
