Nancy Mulkey joined the Texas A&M women’s basketball program as a graduate assistant prior to the start of the 2022-23 season.
Mulkey assists in the day-to-day office operations of the women's basketball team. She also helps oversee managers and practice players while helping organize practice, film distribution and recruiting efforts.
The Houston native was one of the most decorated players in Rice women’s basketball history. Mulkey lettered for the Owls from 2019-21 and capped off her career at Rice by helping the program win the 2021 WNIT Championship, while taking home MVP honors for the tournament in the process. Mulkey led the NCAA during the 2018-19 season in blocked shots per game (3.92) and ranked first in career field goal percentage (.551) and blocks per game (3.5) in Owl history. Additionally, Mulkey tied a C-USA record, being named as the C-USA Defensive Player of the Year three times.
Mulkey ended her collegiate career with the Washington Huskies during the 2021-22 campaign where she earned honorable mention honors on the All-Pac-12 and All-Defensive Teams. After Washington, Mulkey was signed to the 2022 training camp roster of the Las Vegas Aces.
The graduate assistant is expected to receive her master's in recreation and youth development from Texas A&M in the spring of 2024. She obtained her bachelor's degree in kinesiology from Rice in 2020 and earned her first master's from Washington in intercollegiate athletic leadership in 2022.
