After going 6-9 in fall tournament matches, came on strong in the spring and posted a 7-5 dual match record, including 5-2 in SEC matches, to finish 13-14 overall...Began the spring playing No. 6 singles, where she went 6-3…Posted a 6-4, 1-6, 6-4 victory against 109th-ranked Olivia Janowicz of Florida on March 3 to help A&M record its highest-ranked win in program history with a 4-3 win over then-No. 4 Florida, 4-3, ending the Gators’ 37-match regular-season SEC winning streak and their 45 overall win streak against league opponents…Played No. 5 for the first time in the SEC Championship semifinal match against No. 2 Florida on April 20…Also played No. 5 in the final four NCAA tournament matches, going 1-1 in NCAA postseason play…Ended the season with a 6-1, 7-5 victory over 92nd-ranked Ellen Tsay of Stanford in the NCAA championship match to go 4-5 overall against ranked opponents…Longest winning streak was three matches, accomplished three times, including twice during dual match play…Posted a 3-1 record in doubles in dual matches…FALL RESULTS: Made her Aggie debut at the Midland Racquet Collegiate Invitational and had an impressive start…Won her first three matches, including two against ranked opponents to advance to the semifinals…Defeated Carmen Sandor of Penn State, 7-6, 4-6, 6-4, in her first match as an Aggie and followed with straight-set wins over 56th-ranked and No. 3 seed Stephanie Tan of TCU and No. 105 Rashmi Teltumbde of Texas Tech, 6-3, 6-4, to reach the semifinal round, where she fell to 52nd-ranked Petra Januskova of Penn State…Went 6-3 in doubles, including 3-0 with fellow freshman Stefania Hristov to win the Flight 1 doubles title at the Rice Fall Invitational…Also went 2-1 with senior Cristina Sanchez-Quintanar.
PREVIOUS ATHLETIC BACKGROUND: A blue-chip recruit by Tennis Recruiting Network, had been ranked as high as fourth and was rated as the 12th-top recruit in the nation when she signed with Texas A&M in November 2011…Was No. 582 in the International Tennis Federation (ITF) junior rankings and won the ITF International Grass Court Championships in both 2010 and 2011…In addition, earned a Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) professional ranking on the strength of having reached the semifinals of two $10,000 challengers and the quarterfinals of two other $10,000 challengers…Other top tournament finishes include winning the 2009 Mike Agassi Girls 18 National in Las Vegas and the 2008 Labor Day Championships Girls 18, as well as reaching the finals at the 2009 USTA Winter Nationals Girls 18s and the 2009 Gator Bowl…Also won the 2012 U.S. Open National Playoffs Middle States Sectional Qualifier
