Former Arizona State and Baylor women’s tennis player Kelley Anderson has been named a volunteer assistant coach for the Texas A&M women’s tennis team.
Anderson, from Roanoke, Texas, played her first two seasons at Baylor, where as a freshman she went 27-10 in singles and 20-10 in doubles to help the Bears win the 2015 Big 12 Conference regular-season championship. She was named Big 12 Championship Most Outstanding Performer at the 2015 Big 12 Conference tournament after going a combined 4-0 in singles and doubles as the Bears also captured the league’s postseason title and earned an automatic bid to the NCAA Championship.
Anderson transferred to Arizona State for her junior season and reached a career-high No. 70 ranking in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association’s singles rankings. She finished the season 24-9 in singles and 18-8 in doubles. She went 5-4 in singles during her senior fall campaign, but she did not compete in the spring.
A two-time district MVP at Southlake Carroll Senior High School, Anderson was a five-star recruit by Tennis Recruiting Network. She was the state 5A singles runner-up as a freshman and placed third as a senior. She also placed third in state in mixed doubles as a sophomore.
Anderson is a 2018 graduate from Arizona State with a degree in communication.
