Tom Bjugstad

Tom Bjugstad joined the strength and conditioning staff in June of 2024. In this position he works with women’s volleyball and women’s golf.
Bjugstad spent the previous three years at the University of Utah where he worked with women’s volleyball, track and field, men’s golf, and beach volleyball.
Prior to his time at Utah, he spent three seasons at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, working with women’s volleyball, women’s basketball, baseball, women’s tennis, and swimming and diving.
Before his time at Wisconsin-Milwaukee, Tom spent three years as a graduate assistant at the University of Wisconsin, where he was the head strength and conditioning coach for men’s and women’s tennis as well as the lead assistant for women’s volleyball and men’s and women’s soccer.
Bjugstad has also completed Internships at the Wisconsin-La Crosse, Tulane, and Southern Utah. He earned a bachelor's degree in exercise and sport science at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse in 2015 and a master’s degree in kinesiology from the University of Wisconsin in 2018.
Bjugstad is currently certified by the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist. He also holds certifications that include Titleist Performance institute (TPI) Level 1, USA Weightlifting (USAW) Level 1, Functional Movement Screen (FMS) Level 1, PRP Level 1, and is a Certified Tennis Performance Specialist.
Tom and his wife, Lauren, have one son, Briggs.
