The Aggies return to Big 12 action this weekend when they host Texas Tech in a three-game series at Olsen Field. The series opener will be on Friday, March 26, at 7 p.m.
Heading into the top of the third up 1-0, Rice chased A&M starter Doug Frame when Adam Rogers hit a three-run homer.
Frame (0-1) lasted two-plus innings, allowing two earned runs on five hits while striking out two.
Rice was done in the inning. Lance Pendleton added a solo homer and Clay Reichenbach singled home Josh Rodriguez to complete the five-run third.
The Aggies touched Rice starter Matt Ueckert for a couple of runs in the third. Andrew Baldwin hit his second homerun of the season and Austin Boggs singled to score Erik Schindewolf.

After Rice scored three in the top of the fifth to stretch its lead to 14-2, A&M scored four runs in the fifth and four more in the eighth.
With runners on second and third with one out in the bottom of the ninth, Rice elected to bring in their staff ace, Jeff Niemann, who fanned both hitters he faced to preserve the win.
Adam Hale (1-0) pitched 2.2 innings in relief to earn the win.
