Lesle Gallimore
Washington Head Coach
"We faced a big challenge today playing a very good Texas A&M team on their home field. With the tradition and everything that A&M stands for, we knew the environment would be difficult for our kids. With that said, I thought our team did a tremendous job standing up to it."
"I thought we had the better play up until they scored. A&M's the kind of team that when they attack, once they're confident they smell blood in the water and they kind of get after it. I thought our team managed to keep playing despite being down. As you saw on Friday night, we're a no-quit team and that impressed me with our group."
"Even though this [A&M team] is a young team, they're pretty indicative of what A&M is like. They're athletic, they're quick and they're dangerous going to goal. His [Guerrieri] team's got a bright future, just as I think ours does."
Melissa Beal
Washington Senior Forward
"They [Aggies] were really good, actually. I remember playing them my freshman year and also senior year here in the tournament and they are just good all around. They're tough.
"She [Whitney Hooper] has some speed on her. She's really good. All around, all their players are skillful, fast, they keep the pace up and everything."
G Guerrieri
Texas A&M Head Coach
"I thought it was a very good game. To go up three-nothing makes it look like it was different than the game really was. Washington came out and really, for the first 25 minutes of the match, I thought that they had us on our heels a little bit. We had some trouble gaining possession and getting ourselves going. Once we got through that and got some of the jitters out of the way with our youth, you could see the confidence start rolling.
"The Gators are a tremendous program. They're very athletic, skilled and organized. They're very good and they win their games with class. For us, the thing that's a bright spot is that even though we're going to have to go play against a great team in their home, it's going to be similar weather to what we have and it's a similar surface to what we're accustomed to. I think it should be an attractive game. We've had some great matches with them over the years."
Laura Grace Robinson
Texas A&M Senior Midfielder
On A&M's first goal:
"It's nice to score off of something that you've practiced a lot.
On A&M's third goal:
I figured that if I just got a head on [the ball] that Hooper would be able to get it under control and score. She did that a lot today--if you put the ball in her general direction, she'll get to it and make something dangerous happen, so she did a great job finishing that.
"Hopefully there are a lot more [memorable moments] to come in the next week or two weeks or three weeks. It's always good to get a goal and advance to the Sweet 16. It will be fun."
