
Shipley, Mautz Named to Big 12 All-Tournament Team

COLLEGE STATION, Texas - Texas A&M seniors Rachel Shipley and Alyssa Mautz were named to the Big 12 Soccer All-Tournament Team, the conference announced Sunday.
The seniors helped the No. 6 Aggies advance past Colorado in a 5-4 penalty kick shootout in the quarterfinal match after a 0-0 tie. The team then fell to Oklahoma in the semifinal, 1-0 in overtime.
Shipley is a two-time selection to the Big 12 All-Tournament Team, earning her first slot last season. She netted a penalty kick in the PK shootout against Colorado, and footed a shot-on-goal during the match. In the semifinal, Shipley posted two shots with one on target vs. Oklahoma. For her efforts this season, the midfielder ranks among the top 10 in the conference in points (23), points per game (1.10), goals (9), goals per game (0.43) and assists (21). The Plano, Texas, native is a two-time Big 12 Player of the Week this season and was placed on the All-Big 12 First Team.
Mautz recorded four shots with one on frame vs. Colorado, and two shots against Oklahoma. In overall statistics she ranks second in the Big 12 in shots (86) and game-winning goals (5), and sits at third in shots per game (4.10), points (29), points per game (1.38), goals (12) and goals per game (0.57). From O'Fallon, Mo., Mautz has received honors as Big 12 Player of the Week this season, and was named to the All-Big 12 first team.
The Aggies discover their postseason fate today when the NCAA Division I Women's Soccer Selection Show airs on ESPNU at 3:30 p.m. The A&M soccer team has made 15 straight NCAA Tournament appearances, advancing as far as the quarterfinals four times.
