COLLEGE STATION, Texas - Senior Aggie All-American doubles team of Austin Krajicek (Brandon, FL) and Jeff Dadamo (Tampa, FL) provided early momentum for the 14th-ranked Texas A&M men's tennis team as the Aggies went on the roadand swept a non-conferencematch against 47th-ranked TCU in Fort Worth on Wednesday, 7-0.
All three doubles matches were very close, and at No. 1 the match was tied at five when Krajicek and Dadamo were down 15-40 before Krajicek hit a cross court forehand winner and from that point the Aggie march was on. The top-ranked Aggie duo finished off the match against the country's No. 48 doubles team of Emanuel Brighiu and Christopher Price to clinch the doubles point, 8-5.
"All three doubles matches were close at the time when Austin Krajicek had an ESPN moment," Aggie head coach Steve Denton said. "With the match tied at 5-5 and Austin and Jeff (Dadamo) were down 15-40 and Austin chased down a lob over Jeff's head and hit a forehand cross court winner and the momentum really turned in our favor from that point on in every match."
"I was really pleased with the poise and fight of this group and I liked what I saw tonight against a very solid TCU team," Denton explained. "This is a veteran group of guys and they knew this would be a challenge and they responded very well."
