No. 16 Texas A&M plays Little Rock on Tuesday, December 22 at 12 p.m. inside Reed Arena at 12 p.m., in a game that features two coaches with 700+ wins.
The game is broadcast on SEC Network, with Olympic Gold Medalist Paul Sunderland and Women's Basketball Hall of Fame Coach Andy Landers on the call. The game is also available digitally on the WatchESPN app on computers, tablets and smartphones.
Listeners in Bryan-College Station can also tune into Tom Turbiville and Tap Bentz on The Zone 1150 AM/102.7 FM for the radio call. The radio stream is also available on 12thMan.com/showcase or the Radio Aggieland app.
The game marks the start of Holiday Hoops at Texas A&M, with single-game tickets starting at $4 for adults and $2 for children. Mystery Stockings, whose contents vary from holiday candy to ornaments to Aggie gear, are available to the first 100 fans who go to the 12th Man Team table at the main (east) entrance. There will also be many Holiday-themed promotions throughout the game.
The Aggies are looking to avenge a 69-60 loss to the Trojans in the First Round of the 2015 NCAA Tournament, although the Aggies were without All-American point guard Jordan Jones for that game.
The matchup between A&M head coach Gary Blair and Little Rock head coach Joe Foley marks one of five matchups nationally between coaches with 700+ wins this season. Blair has 703 career wins to Foley's 702. Both are members of the state of Arkansas Sports Hall of Fame.
The Aggies are 8-3 on the season, and are coming off a 74-68 win against then-No. 17 Oklahoma in the Big 12/SEC Challenge in Oklahoma City, where the Aggies used a 25-3 second-half run to take control of the game.
Little Rock, looking to replace Taylor Gault (15.6 points), the senior leading scorer from last season's NCAA Tournament team, is just 2-6 on the year, but has played several power conference teams close, including LSU (L, 51-57 on Nov. 18) and Texas (L, 56-66 on Dec. 6).
After this game, the Aggies return to Reed Arena on Dec. 29 at 2 p.m. to host Prairie View A&M to conclude non-conference play.
