Rinderknech to Compete at Oracle ITA Masters

Malibu, Calif. – Junior Arthur Rinderknech will represent Texas A&M at the 2016 Oracle ITA Masters, Thursday at the Ralphs-Straus Tennis Center in Malibu, California.
Following the success of last year's inaugural Oracle ITA Masters, the event returns in 2016 with an expanded field in men's and women's singles, allowing for players from all across Division I to participate.
Invitations were sent out to one man and one woman from each Division I Conference to participate, with criteria similar to the NCAA Tournament being used. The invites caused the draw size to increase from 16 to 32. A 32-team mixed-doubles event will also take place at the 2016 Oracle ITA Masters, with players from the same conference partnered up wherever possible.
No. 9 Rinderknech is seeded third among the impressive 32 player field, including 22 ranked players. The Paris, France native, will face Alex Chepik of Bethune-Cookman at 3:30 p.m. (CT). Thursday's winner will face the winner of No. 54 Max Tchoutakian of Baylor and No. 110 Adam Moundir of Old Dominion.
In addition to the singles format, Rinderknech will partner with Jasmine Lee of Mississippi State in the mixed doubles field, the SEC pair are the top seed and will take on Sitilia Rencheli and Kei Ezaka of Quinnipiac at 10 a.m. (CT).
Seeding for the Oracle ITA Masters was based on a players' Universal Tennis Ratings. Yuya Ito of Texas is the No. 1 seed in the men's singles draw, while Luisa Stefani of Pepperdine is the top seed in the women's singles draw.
