Texas A&M women's basketball heads to Little Rock for their first road test of the season, taking on the Trojans at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, November 23 at the Jack Stephens Center. Little Rock upset Texas A&M in the 2015 NCAA Tournament, but the Aggies won the 2015-16 meeting 69-39 in College Station.
There is no television broadcast for this game, but fans can tune into to Tom Turbiville and Bret Dark's radio broadcast on KZNE 1150 AM/102.7 FM or listen on 12thman.com. Little Rock also is providing a video stream of the game that can be accessed on a computer at lrtrojans.com.
The Aggies are the only team in the nation that features a player ranked in the top 10 in points (Danni Williams, 25.7, 7th), rebounds (Anriel Howard, 12.7, 7th) and assists (Curtyce Knox, 3rd, 9.3), and have started the season 3-0 for the fourth straight year. However, this is the first road game for the Aggies after improving their record to 45-7 at home since the start of the 2013-14 season.
The Trojans, who won 20 games and advanced to the WNIT in 2015-16, are 1-3 on the season, but defeated North Texas 55-44 in their only game to date in the Jack Stephens Center. Little Rock has faced road tests at traditional powers Green Bay and Oklahoma, staying within a point of the Sooners at halftime before losing 68-58.
Both teams are coached by members of the 700-win club and the state of Arkansas Sports Hall of Fame, Joe Foley at Little Rock & Gary Blair at Texas A&M. At 721 career wins, Foley, who ranks seventh among active coaches and 13th all-time, leads Blair by just one career win.
After this game, the Aggies return home to host Abilene Christian at 6 p.m. on Saturday, November 26 inside Reed Arena. Broadcast of that game is slated for SEC Network Plus.
