The Aggies have played six straight games that have come down to the final minute of play, including a 76-71 overtime win over No. 23 Tennessee on Sunday. Texas A&M rallied from down 11 points with under three minutes to go, closing regulation on a 13-2 run to send the game to overtime on an Anriel Howard turnaround jumper with 5.2 left. Courtney Walker, who had 29 points, scored 10 points in overtime to propel the Aggies to victory.
Mississippi State, coached by former A&M assistant Vic Schaefer, are 21-4 on the season, and have won four straight games, including the Bulldogs' first-ever win against Tennessee on Jan. 28. Mississippi State is led by Victoria Vivians, who ranks second in the SEC to A&M's Courtney Walker (18.7) in points per game with 17.2.
The Aggies are looking for set the record straight in this game after a heart-breaking 63-61 overtime loss to the Bulldogs last season, where A&M missed two shots that would have won the game at the end of regulation. Vivians hit a 3-pointer to take the lead with 55 seconds left in overtime to give Mississippi State the victory.
After this game, A&M heads to Oxford, Miss. to take on Ole Miss at 6 p.m. on Monday, February 15. The Aggies return home on Thursday, February 18 to host LSU in the annual BTHO Breast Cancer Game.
