Feb 11, 2016 | Women's Golf
TALLAHASSE, Fla.- The No. 17 Aggie women's golf team travels to the Florida State Match-Up at the Don Veller Seminole Golf Club from February 12-14. Junior Bianca Fabrizio looks to defend her individual title at the event.
The Maroon and White will tee off at 8:26 a.m. CT partnered with host, No. 34 Florida State. In the event's unique format, two teams will combine to win the match-up portion of the tournament, which Florida State and Texas A&M did in 2014-15. LiveStats will be available at www.golfstatresults.com each of the three days.
Fabrizio won the individual portion of this tournament in 2015 defeating Furman's Taylor Totland in a playoff.
Taking to the par 72 / 6,265 yard course for the 54-hole tournament are the pairings of South Carolina/Virginia, Furman/Coastal Carolina, SMU/Kansas State, Missouri/Tennessee, and Virginia Tech/James Madison. The 54-hole tournament
The twelve teams will tee off in twosomes for the first two rounds and then in a final round shotgun in threesomes. The Match-Up portion of the tournament will be determined by taking the best four scores from the partners (which is a total of ten players) and the worst score to make the Match Up team total. At the end of the tournament, the teams with the lowest score will win the Match Up.
The Aggies' lineup includes Fabrizio, Maddie Szeryk, Andrea Jonama, Thanya Pattamakijsakul and Callie Scheffler. Emily Campbell will compete as an individual at the event.
After starting the spring season at the Florida State Match-Up Tournament, the Aggies will set off for the 3M Augusta Invitational in Augusta, Ga. on March 11-13.
