Feb 15, 2016 | Women's Basketball
OXFORD, Miss.- No. 12 Texas A&M had no trouble with Ole Miss, pulling away for a 62-48 win at The Pavilion at Ole Miss. With the win, the Aggies have won three straight and move into a tie for second place in the SEC.
Texas A&M (18-7, 8-4 SEC) took control from the opening tip, jumping out to an 11-2 lead in the first five minutes of the game and led 27-16 at halftime.
The Rebels (10-15, 2-10 SEC) closed the deficit to nine points, the closest they would come for the remainder of the game, on the first possession of the second half, but A&M responded with an 8-0 run to erase any thoughts of an Ole Miss comeback.
The Aggies had three score in double figures, Courtney Williams (12), Courtney Walker (11) and Chelsea Jennings (10). Williams had her first double double of the season, and sixth of her career, with 11 rebounds.
Anriel Howard co-led the Aggies with 11 rebounds as well.
The Aggies return home at 8 p.m. on Thursday, February 18 to host LSU in the annual BTHO Breast Cancer game. The game is broadcast on SEC Network.
